Norwalk Islands - Saltwater Fishing Report
We fished on Tuesday morning with perfect weather and flat water-- starting out toward the middle of the Sound, where we found bluefish finning near the top. They were a bit finicky, but they did hit poppers and Slug-O's, and we boated seven from 5-7 pounds---with many more lost at the boat and/or thrown back.
We continued across to the other side of the Sound and worked the north shore of Long Island, enjoying heavy fluke action--with fish up to 22", and many more shorts in the lot.
On our way back to the Norwalk Islands we found striped bass up to 14 pounds.
There's no question that fishing is finally getting much better, with lots of sand eels and other bait showing up in great numbers.
