Norwalk Islands - Saltwater Fishing Report

Monday morning we sailed with Harlan "Bud" Woerhle, on his annual visit from Las Vegas NV--along with his nephew--also Bud--who lives in Wyoming. We found bluefish on the surface off Middle Passage, and the two Buds also caught some nice striped bass, with the largest coming in at 30".
On Wednesday we hopped aboard Craig Steinberg's Boston Whaler to show him some angling techniques and give him a few tips about fishing local waters. Craig brought along his son, Corey, and his daughter, Paige; the family lives in Weston. The threesome had a wonderful day, bringing in several bluefish and striped bass up to 37"--all caught on surface plugs.
Friday's trip was with "My Bonnie" regular, Marc Pfefferle, who was entertaining three clients of his Stamford firm, Carl Marks Associates. The party had to duck in from the rain a couple of times, but everyone caught fish--working off of the Norwalk Islands, bringing in bluefish on the surface, along with striped bass up to 30"--all on plugs and sand eel jigs.
