Norwalk Islands - Saltwater Fishing Report

We fished on Thursday morning with B.J. Grinage of Pittsburgh PA and his brother, Bryan, and Bryan's son, Winston (L.B.) along with B.J.'s dad, Berchman Grinage–all from North Carolina. The family enjoyed bringing in porgies and fluke.
The afternoon trip was with My Bonnie regular, Robert Remin of White Plains, NY, along with his three nephews–Gideon and Josh Askowitz of White Plains and Aaron Askowitz of Great Neck NY. They caught keeper fluke and bluefish up to 7 pounds.
Friday's trip was with Jeff Schroeder of Norwalk and his father, Don, visiting from Naples FL. They had a great day, fishing on the New York side of Long Island Sound, where there were loads of bluefish on the surface for two hours. On the way in they brought in a schoolie bass, and we tied up the boat just before we were hit with a thunder storm, following two days of temps in the high 90's.
On Saturday we fished with Matt Cline of Old Greenwich and Dan Han of Purchase NY. We had a steady pick of fluke up to 19″–with two keepers in the batch.
The last week has been a strange mix of unusually hot weather, followed by record low temps. time of year. Most days have been windy, and we've also had a couple of thunder storms, but today, June 27, is what one would expect for the week before the Fourth of July.
