Quepos - Saltwater Fishing Report

Ahhhhh Costa Rica Fishing here has been very enjoyable for lots of Anglers here this Costa Rica Fishing Season. The results of the G.I.F.T Tournament resulted in The Frenzy with the 1st place result and the Stalker with Second and the Frenzy II with Third. February 1 the 32' Lurhs with Captain CoCo had 3 Sails raised and 2 Dorado , while the 31' with the Bloun group had a double hook up on Sails at 10:30 and then a third Sail at 11:30 and the 33'With Captain Franklin had 3 nice Yellowfin Tuna for Dinner.

January 30 today Dick Nolan, Pat Nolan and Jim Quakenbush along with Flat Stanley from Boston and Flat Stanley from Mississippi fished the 33' and raised 2 Marlin had one on for a while then broke off, Released 1 Sailfish. Clients Christine and Jeff Simpson on the 32' Luhrs released 3 Sailfish and had a Dorado and client John Bloun's group started day 1 of 6 with 4 Sailfish and a Dorado for Dinner

January 29 today the 33' with Captain Randy Morales released 7 Sailfish and 1 Marlin, Capt. Chepe Chepe released 7 Sailfish with a Double Hook-up to start the day. Captain Estevan on the 36 released 4 Sailfish, the 32' with Captain CoCo released 1 Sailfish.

January 28 Clients Gerry Knight released 2 Sailfish on the 31' clients Steve Gary on the 33' had a nice Yellowfin Tuna, and Ken Isham on the 28' raised a nice 450 lb Marlin had him on for a bit then broke off, Inshore bite very slow today for Roosterfish seeking anglers.

The Quepos Six Pack returned for their 3rd trip to Costa Rica with 2 offshore days with Sails and inshore for Roosterfish

January 26 The Tagtmeyers had a beautiful Marlin and a Sailfish while the inshore guys Jeff Taranto, Steve Gary, Sidney, David, Jim and Kevin spent some time inshore with a whole lot of fun on Roosterfish

January 23 Today lots of boats out some in preparation for the Harry Gray Fly Fishing Tournament G.I.F.T. Still lots of Marlin being raised should make for an exciting upcoming week of Costa Rica Fishing. Offshore results were steady and Inshore some nice Costa Rica Rooster Fish. January 20 Quepos Sportfishing reports for today Boats offshore were 35' Express 2 Marlin, 1 Striped Marlin and 1 Black Marlin, 32' 1 Marlin, 1 Sailfish, 43' 1 Sailfish, 33' 1 Sail 1 Grouper, 34' 2 Sailfish Quepos Fishing Clients Josh Tarr and the girls released 1 Sailfish and 1 Grouper which they brought to Mar Luna for Dinner and they rave it was the best they have ever had! January 19 Lots of Anglers Heading offshore Costa Rica fishing today and several inshore boats as well. The Roosterfish Bite has been really good. Quepos Sportfishing Clients Bruce Karhu, and friends after spending 2 Full Days offshore with the Release of Sailfish and Marlin are off to seek a Lifetime Roosterfish and after just a half day got their Roosterfish and a Mackerel. Clients yesterday Releasing a Sailfish on the Fly and 3 Roosterfish conventional.
