Quepos Fishing Report - Happy Green Season Anglers

Capt. Leanne Batten
June 23, 2011
Quepos - Saltwater Fishing Report

With the coming of Green Season here in Quepos, town becomes quiet, the Manuel Antonio National Park lines dissapear, Only a few boats head out of the Marina each morning. My favorite time of year here in Costa Rica. The weather has been sunny everyday with the constant afternoon rains into the evening. Charter prices are reduced and the sport fishing stays great. June fishing has produced Marlin, Sailfish, Yellow Fin Tuna for offshore anglers and the inshore bite for Roosterfish has been very consistent. One of our return guests returned early this month on his 3 trip since his article "Affordable Dreams" Fishing in Costa Rica during the Green Season was published in the Sportfishing Report and the affordable options for travelers to Costa Rica during the summer months

June 21 Tara Wilson and friends spent a full day offshore and had some action with 2 Amberjacks, 2 Nice Tuna and Release of 1 Sailfish
June 20 Capt. Christian had the release of a Black Marlin over 300 lbs and the release of 1 Sailfish while Capt. Estephan with trip out of Los Suenos had a Black Marlin and a Yellow Fin Tuna over 70 lbs.

June 9 Jay Kingham went offshore today with a group down for a wedding and amongst very rough seas and just had 2 Tuna before heading in.
