Capt. Dan Wise
September 23, 2009
Rio Colorado - Saltwater Fishing Report

Fishing continues to be excellent in the Barra del Colorado area where guest of Rio Colorado Lodge are fishing. More than 75 tarpon were hooked last week, and at least 30 of those boated. In addition, guest caught jack, king mackeral, bonito, tuna, and barracuda. Additionally, one guest from North Carolina caught a 40lb. Cobia , a FIRST, according to a guide that has worked at Rio Colorado Lodge for more than 30 years!

The weather is also excellent, beautiful hot sunny days, with the ocean flat, and the river calm.

Rio Colorado Fishing Forecast:

Good! We expect the tarpon fishing to just continue to get better for the next few weeks. And then, if as in past years, the Calba will start to show, and we'll be reporting on more snook fishing.
