Salinas - Saltwater Fishing Report
1.074 pound Monster Black Marlin !!!.....
Our fishing never ceases to amaze us……This country has indeed been blessed with the most exciting fishing in the world……Check out the report for the Giant Black Marlin caught in Salinas this weekend…made by our friend Captain Fouad Sultan:
Monster Black Marlin 1064 lbs. caught off Salinas Ecuador-30 miles out in an area called Cope.
On board was angler Dennis Chalas of Boca Raton Florida who was strapped in the fighting chair of the 29 ft. fishing vessel Saruka from Salinas Ecuador, captained by Fouad Sultan and his crew..
The day start out steaming at 5:15 am-Weather was slight overcast-water temp 76 degrees-seas a moderate chop 2-4 feet. Angler Chalas started fishing for Wahoo and had lines in the water by 6:30 am.
We were rigged with illander lures with horse ballyhoo on down riggers. We had in the box by 8:00am 4 Wahoo 35-45 # each when out of nowhere we were attacked by a Monster Black Marlin. After a one and a half fight the fish went belly up.
The team of the Saruka called for local fisherman for assistance in helping to bring on board this massive fish. We were grateful to have the speedy help of local fisherman in the area this far out at sea.
Angler Chalas stated that Captain Sultan and his crew worked safely and in total control of the event.
The Saruka returned to Salinas midafternoon where they greeted by about 300 beach goers and a local television reporter .The crowd assisted in dragging this monster to the beach weighing station.
The charter was on the 30th of June 2013 .
Contact us and become part of the action. Maybe the next one can be you.
Buena pesca amigos
