The migrations are in full swing. From the beaches to the backcountry and from northern waters to warmer southern waters. Fish are on the move for food as well as for comfort. Anytime fish have to get ready for winter they have to feed. This is good news for fishermen. The beaches off of Anna Maria are on fire with spanish mackerel, bonita and kingfish. Just look for birds and baitfish and you will find the action.

Inside snook are heading toward the backcountry. Check out areas close to deeper protected water as winter gets closer. Flats next to canals and river mouths are good spots to try.

Redfish are starting to break up into smaller schools but there are still plenty around for steady action.

The lower tides of November mean flounder time. Just add a little weight and slow things down while fishing the out edges of the flats. Jigs are perfect for this type of fishing. Just remember to fan cast any pot hole you happen bye. I once caught fifteen flounder from a hole not much bigger then a drive way.

Bigger trout are starting to show on the deeper flats of both Anna Maria Sound and Sarasota Bay. Water temp is perfect for a little top water action on this great gamefish.

Thank You & Good Fishing!
