Anna Maria - Saltwater Fishing Report
Inshore Report : Inshore fishing has been typical for the hot summer months of August, bait is a little small but easy to catch and the fishing on most days has been very good. The mangrove snapper in the 10-17" range are everywhere and filling limits in the cooler,
Redfish have been good most days on the right tides with some huge upper slot fish. Snook have been strong and a few flounder are showing up, look for flounder to start stacking up in the next few months along with the redfish getting even better.
Offshore Report: The offshore bite has been good with Large 14-21" mangrove snapper biting well, some red grouper and gags are making thier way into the cooler as well. Big flounder should be showing up at area reefs soon and spanish mackeral are everywhere. Gotta watch out for the sharks though as it is shark week, there very active and hungry this time of year.
Freshwater Largemouth bass Report:
The morning bite has been on fire on Lake okeechobee with 20-40 bass by 10 am not uncommon right now. This lake has come back well, the water level is up and the fishing is hot. If you like topwater action come and check it out. Lake Istapoka has not been producing quite the numbers but quality Big fish. Now through March 1st is when you will catch the biggest bass as they are fattning up on shad schools.Sometimes I can catch you live bait sometimes you have to buy it. I am currently running specials on both lakes for 3 fishing trips day 1 you fish 6-10 then 4-dark, then the next morning 6-2pm for 1000$, thats three shots at a huge Florida Largemouth
