Anna Maria - Saltwater Fishing Report

It has been a great spring so far this year. The weather and water conditions could not be better. We have had a few days that the wind and rain kept us off the water but not many.

Every year there seems to be a outstanding fishery. Some years it could be mangrove snapper another could be redfish, last year it was the tarpon that stole the show. So far this year trout seem to be the best bet in numbers and size

The catch and release snook fishing gets better and better as we get closer to late spring and the first spawn of the year. This fishery is still in recovery so please take care with each and every fish released.

Redfish are still a dependable target even if some days they make you work for them.

Yesterday we tried for kings but struck out. While we did not catch any kings we did catch bonita, gag grouper, red grouper, white grunt, spanish mackerel, jack crevalle, blue runner, sharks and had a shot at a cobia that showed up out of nowhere for around two minutes behind the boat.
Good Fishing!
