Mixed Bag

Anna Maria - Saltwater Fishing Report
Bending rods is the name of the game. We are catching a mixed bag of fish. Depending on the day and the charter I have each day has been different. One day I will have a tarpon trip and the next I will have a family with young kids that just want something on the end of there line.
The great tarpon fishing we have had for the last couple of months is starting to let up. There are still fish around but they are just a little harder to find.
On are nearshore reefs the action is big spanish mackerel, mangrove snapper, sharks and a few cobia and flounder. On some days it is almost impossible to get a bait down to the snapper through the spanish.
Inshore trout fishing is still good but the fish are running smaller as the summer goes on. I am starting to catch silver trout with the specks on a regular basis.
Catch and release snook fishing is on fire when you get good moving water. Most fish are the small males but they sure are a lot of fun on light tackle.
Redfishing is starting to get better and the big schools of fish should be on there way any day now. Right now I am catching anywhere from two to a dozen fish per trip. Things should pick up when we start getting rain. Red fishing always seems to get better then.
Thank You & Good Fishing!
