Big snook action for Big snook on Anna Maria

Capt. Tom Chaya
April 21, 2009
Anna Maria - Saltwater Fishing Report

The last month was probably the best snook fishing in the last 5 years for catching big snook.Big snook to me means fish over 32 inches. We landed over 40 snook between 32 and 38 inches with all being released. Rookie fisherman may not like this type of fishing because it requires a bit more patience. Constantly changing types of baits and sometimes camping on them for 2 or 3 hours can make fishers are bit unraveling. One 38 inch fighting snook will put a smile on their face for a long time. When the tides and conditions aren't right we go for the smaller males which can provide quick action especially if you have kids or less hardened fisherman.

Anna Maria Fishing Forecast:

Get ready for Kings ,permit and gag grouper. They are here and hitting hard
