Anna Maria - Saltwater Fishing Report

Well it's on its way the spring fishing we all have been waiting on. The cold water temps are almost gone and now this should be the last of the annoying cold fronts. The Spanish and king mackeral bite has been unbelievable, with Spanish Macks averaging 2-4 lbs,

and on a poor day catching 20 in a couple of hours and a great day catching over 60 in the same time frame. We've been spending a few hours doing this then off to the redfish bite that has been really outstanding as well with some good numbers and size on the reds.

Trout are starting to show up as well in there spring patterns. If you like catching snook we are looking at the best numbers since the cold kill, lots of nice snook are on their way to their spring feeding areas.

Grouper are still out of season and for what I don't know because any day we go target them for catch and release has been outstanding, even catching them on the flats,go figure, I wish someone would do some real research and they will see that the population is up not down, I just don't get it.

Just ask anyone who fishes and not some politician sitting behind a desk there are plenty of them on the reefs.
