Tarpon in big numbers

Capt. Tom Chaya
June 12, 2014
Anna Maria - Saltwater Fishing Report

Plenty of Tarpon on the areas beaches. Crabs and threadfins were the bait of choice on the strong moving tides. Best action was in the choppier water. Snapper are on the area reefs and hard bottom offshore and inshore. Small sardines and shrimp are working well. Trout are still in fair numbers in the areas deeper grass and are eating in early morning hours. Snook are on the beaches and passes and are most active in low light times. Reds are best on the low tides off the bars and oysters. Mackerel are starting to show in the big schools of bait in the passes.
