Boc Gande Tarpon Fishing

Capt. Andy Boyette
December 3, 2015
Boca Grande - Saltwater Fishing Report

It's Time To To Start Thinking About 2016

I have just begun putting my book together for next year and I have a few new clients that have already sent deposits and claimed some days. I also need to remind my regular clients, that fish every season, that contacting me as early as possible helps you get the dates you want and eases the pressure on me for scheduling. So just a quick note to get you planning.
This past season overall was a good year and I had great success on my boat, but it was not without some failures. With the growing popularity of tarpon fishing in the area the tarpon are seeing more pressure than ever and it requires some changes in tactics. The biggest most single change that anyone can make for success is to increase there time on the water. With that said every failure that was on my boat this season was a 6hr trip. All though they where limited it does not change the fact that some days 6hrs is not enough time. My 8 hr trips and whole day trips are not only the most popular and widely booked they are also the most successful and it is a very rare for a 8hr or whole day trip to be a complete washout.
Rates will remain the same again into 2016 and can be found and located here http://www.gofishcharters.com/rates

I want to also take the time to thank everyone who fished with me this year and extend early Holiday Wishes to all. Thanksgiving and Christmas are important times of the year to spend with Family and Friends and I hope every one has the best.....

For those that did not fish with me this year just a quick shot of the new boat. A custom built tower boat one of the stablest platforms I have ever fished on. Everyone had great things to say and enjoyed the ride the room and the fish-ablity

This tarpon what caught during one of the wildest days I have had in a long time. We had multiple double and triple hook ups. And if you got a bait in front of these tarpon they ate instantly. It was insane..

Just one of the many tarpon caught In April this year. Prior to the full on migration these early tarpon are forging heavy in easy accessible places with very little pressure. This makes for some really great early tarpon action.

After catching numerous tarpon we switched up and targeted Cobia. They made several good lunches at waterfront restaurants during some 8hr and whole day trips.

Seems like tarpon season just got over, actually its not over... the warm weather has kept good numbers of tarpon throughout the entire summer and well into the fall. With winter showing up in the North and cooler days on our horizon that may well come to a slow down. But for now those willing have still been able to target good numbers of tarpon in the area. The snook and redfish fishing has also been off the hook in the Charlotte Harbor and Ft Myers area. Looking forward to some upcoming trips.

So to bring back my old motto
"GOOD THINGS COME TO THOSE WITH BAIT" Capt Andy Boyette
