Boca Grande - Saltwater Fishing Report

Our target today was top water trout then move to big inshore snapper. We started out fishing potholes with Zara spook type top water lures. I was using a higher pitch click clack type noisy lure then Aaron. Both had several large trout follow the lure and several explode on it. The fishing was slow so we caught greenbacks and moved to the pass for mangrove snapper. Aaron had a pattern of drift fishing for snapper and red grouper. We caught many red grouper and about six keeper snapper. We kept two ladyfish for cut bait while drifting. We decided to move to one of my areas and anchor.

It was instant hook up on large 15" fat snapper. We caught our five keeper mangrove snapper and move to the flats for redfish.

Aaron caught a 23" red fish on cut bait and two nice Snook on live bait. We found a small school of red fish that would not cooperate at all. We called it a day and headed in.
