Carrabelle - Saltwater Fishing Report

SNAPPERS AND GROUPERS STILL SMOKIN' HOT
Mangrove snappers and gag grouper fishing continues to be very, very hot right now. The only caveat is the Tropical Storm moving into the Gulf from Cuba today 8/18. We could get really blown out or it may tract to the West and move away. If it gets into the Northern Gulf it will become unfishable quickly with big winds and seas. Mother Nature is hard to compete against. Lost trips are the norm for guides. And at a time when we should be fishing at the height of the tourist season.
Stay tuned to see what Tropical Storm Fay has decided to give us. We usually get some good fishing right after a storm passes. Right now it sure ain't lookin' that great! I'll report the results on my next post. We have really been fortunate this year with minimal tropical weather in our area of the Gulf. We have been blessed with good weather. I guess it all balances out.
Till next tide, wishing you safe and productive fishing,
Captain Alex Crawford
