Capt. Richard Sechrist

Charlotte Harbor - Saltwater Fishing Report

A lot of people have been calling asking is it still ok to come down. We have had no effects from the oil spill and fishing has been off the hook. Tarpon are strong in the harbor and more and more are showing up daily in Boca grande pass. Congrats to Maureen Cassady a lady angler on my boat for the Boca clasic tournament she brought in a 150 pound tarpon and won largest tarpon award. She was also the only other anler to get a grande slam Trout, redfish, snook and tarpon. all of them are in the harbor and on the flats. great time to be here. Captain Rick Sechrist

Charlotte Harbor Fishing Forecast:

Over the next week the weather looks good and the bite should be hot. Look for cobia on the cape haze bar and snook and reds on the west wall. trout are moving into deeper waters 4-5 feet just off any of the sand bars where there is grass bottom
