Chokoloskee - Saltwater Fishing Report

Sunmmer Time Fishing
Report Date: September 8, 2010
I just love the summertime fishing.
It may be hot,It just might rain and blow in the afternoon, but with so few people out their in their boats blasting around spooking the fish,it's the time of year I always look forward too.
The heat is most always rewarded with a nice catch of fish from

Permit,Tout,Tripletail,Pompano,Cobia,Permit,Mackeral,Reds,Drum, and usually a few Snook and Tarpon not far from reach, but you have too work at it.
This past week we did well with Pompano, not to be outdone,Buce Hitchcock brought back pompano that were just huge,1 appeared to be 5-6 pounds.
The trout are still somewhat hard to find if your not use to fishing in chokoloskee, but it Can be done, just keep hitting those deeper cuts.
By doing this it's possible to catch not only trout, but pompano, snook, reds and even jump 1 of those monster tarpon that are still here.
The days are starting to get cooler and the humidity is easing up a bit,but it's still in the high 80s to low 90s.
Those 100 plus days I feel have finally passed us by.
Offshore, the fishing is excellent if your the first boat their on your spot.Once others show up,move to your next area.
I'm talking about 6 to 12 miles offshore.
Always be carefull offshore, those afternoon storms can be really bad, always keep track and DO Not Get Caught In One!You Will Be Sorry.
So get out and FISH and have fun.
