Tarpon,Reds and Snook on the Moon Phase

Capt. Bert Barkus
August 19, 2010
Chokoloskee - Saltwater Fishing Report

With the summer time storms, get out early and back to the dock befor you get caught in the shallow water with no where go.
For Tarpon, get out early before sun up in the rivers.
Reds are still around in pretty good numbers, and you can fish for them all threw the tides, but you will have to change up your approach as the water rises.
As pr. Mote Marine our snook population is still down from the winter freeze.
They suspect their population is down 30 to 40 percent.
Were still catching snook, but seeing many more reds then snook.
Our snook light behind our house is still alive with snook to 15 pounds.
Bass fishing in Big Cypress is somewhat slow dew to the high water.
Yesteday we only caught 4 to about 2 pounds.
