Clearwater - Saltwater Fishing Report

For the past two weeks I've been booked solid, with 90% of my trips being parents and kids. The youngsters are ranging from 6-16 years old. On nearly every trip, I've seen the young anglers outcatching the rest of the boat. I watched as a 13 year old schooled everybody offshore by nailing Grouper after Grouper, including the biggest(18Lbs) of the trip. The next day I witnessed a 16 year old girl, fishing in saltwater for the first time, catch and release a 34" Snook. Two days later, offshore again, an 8 year old landed the biggest Red(14Lbs)and Mango(6Lbs)Snapper of the trip. An 8 year old working a 22LB Cobia on light tackle?....it happened on one of my half day nearshore trips last week. I'm not sure why the kids catch the trophy fish of the trip, but I'm sure it's got something to do with their parents unselfish behavior while onboard. That coupled with optimism and an unwavering enthusiasm, give the young anglers an upper hand while fishing. So when you're ready for some refreshing fun, take a kid fishing and watch their enthusiasm.....while they outfish you of course! -Thanks for reading- Capt. Brandon- www.fisheyefishing.com
