Snapper Time

Capt. Brandon Fraley
June 19, 2008
Clearwater - Saltwater Fishing Report

Offshore-We've had several productive, full day trips offshore this month for Grouper and snapper. The Red and Mangrove Snapper bite has been excellant around 110 ft deep, light leader and live bait has been the ticket for the bigger fish. The Red Grouper bite has been great in 80ft using just about anything for bait.Schools of small Dorado (Mahi Mahi) have been showing up on just about every Full Day trip, these tasty fish are great fun when using topwater plugs and light tackle. Inshore- Capt. Craig Lahr with Skinny Water charters has been crushing the Tarpon. He reports large numbers of big fish (100-150lbs) within 50 yards of the beach. Getting out early with live bait has been key. - Thanks for reading-Capt. Brandon, www.fisheyefishing.com
