Destin - Saltwater Fishing Report

Been braving the rainy weather to take a few trips out this week. The story has been the same for every trip, weed through the little reds and specks and catch a nice keeper every once in a while... and have your rain coat close by for the scattered showers that were popping up throughout the day.

Yesterday we netted two nice speckled trout, a 22" on a skitterwalk and a 20" on a piece of cut mullet that was intended for a redfish. Caught a couple nice reds, one over the slot limit in less than 2 feet of water and the other about 24". Caught a few nice reds in the 20-23" range on the trips before. Can't wait until the sun pops out today and we can have a calmer day out on the water.

Destin Fishing Forecast:

My buddy called me yesterday and said he's been seeing some cobia along the beaches. A couple more weeks and the cobia bite should be in full swing. The trout are starting to venture out from the muddy inlets and rivers out on to the grass flats and the reds are noticable more active in shallow water. I love spring fishing!!!
