Destin Redfish and Speckled Trout

Capt. Blake Nelson
March 9, 2010
Destin - Saltwater Fishing Report

The water temps are consistently in the upper 50s now and we even found a couple spots where it has been in the low 60s. We were able to fish the entire trip yesterday with artificial lures, primarily gulp baits but also a few mirrolure swimbaits. The trout bite was good all day and we ended the last hour of the trip with a few redfish. And staying true to the name, we were able to land a 24" redfish on the official "last cast" of the trip!

Destin Fishing Forecast:

The water levels have been lower than usual which makes for some pretty skittish fish. With the forecasted rain tomorrow (3/10) the levels should be a little higher and we'll hopefully see the bite on the flats get a little better.

Target Species:

Redfish and Speckled Trout
