'Pass Time

Capt. Larry Pentel
August 12, 2015
Destin - Saltwater Fishing Report

It's that time off the summer when I leave Seagrove and head over to Indian Pass for a while. This will be my shortest time there chasing tarpons in 16 years. I gonna try to pack as many Tarpon, Tripletails and Scallops as I can into less than 3 weeks. Sounds like some busy fishing !

Here at Grayton the Vermillion Snapper bite has remained strong with limit catches about every trip. Still a few Mahi and Scamp around and the Kings seem to be showing back up in better numbers as well. Here are a few pics from the past week.

These folks have fished with me for years and LOVE
a limit of Snapper

These ladies had NEVER fished before and didn't know what to expect... they both caught a limit of Snappers but Mom let her daughter catch the big fish.

Another group of first time anglers that caught a pile of fish, plenty more in the box.

These folks "grouped up" for this afternoon trip and while they had never met before those 2 guys had as much fun watching that young man catch his limit of fish as they did catching theirs .... Mom was just proud....

The last sunrise I'll see at Grayton for 3 weeks.......

I'll be back to Grayton/Seagrove on Sept 1st. Red Snappers re-open for the weekends starting Labor day weekend and while I'd love to stay at the 'Pass for at least a month I have folks chomping at the bit to go out and harrass 'em here......

More Fishing Reports:

Gulf Fishing off Grayton Beach in beautiful South Walton. Red Snapper to Cobia to King Mackeral to Grouper. No need to get up early or drive for an hour to a marina. We will pick you up on the beach and be on a reef or wreck in usually less than 15 minutes. Some of the Gulfs best fishing lies just offshore of the snow white sands of South Walton. We also offer Tarpon trips at Indian Pass during the summer run. July and August have large schools of giant Silver Kings feeding just off the beach.
