Estero Bay: Fallen Eagle Redfish Classic

Capt. Joe Angius
March 5, 2015
Estero Bay - Saltwater Fishing Report

I know this report is a little late, but charters have been keeping me busy.

The Fallen Eagle Redfish classic is a benefit tournament that brings some of the best anglers together to support a great cause. I had clients booked for the day of the tournament and they asked if they could fish it. I couldn't turn them down and the pressure of getting clients on fish during a tournament was on.

Shrimp was the bait of choice; free-lined blind casting along mangrove edges. We landed both of our weighable fish within two hours and missed a couple of opportunities to upgrade. Needless to say, we came in 6th place out of 70 some odd boats.
