Estero Bay - Saltwater Fishing Report

The water is warming up, as well as the fishing! Beautiful water has been found in the bay near Mound Key making the redfish and snook happy. This is the time to try new techniques, baits, and artificial baits.
My client and I had the opportunity to test out a few new top waters and soft plastics made by Flats HQ.
Redfish went bonkers for the top water plugs early in the morning. A few fish were missed, which is common with top waters, and one stud redfish was landed.
Snook reacted the same way to the top waters, except there were a lot of juvenile fish. Later in the day we used shrimp free-lined on a 3/0 Owner hook. This method produced a consistent snook bite and a few were decent sized. The larger ones are going to want live pilchards.
I definitely recommend the Flats HQ top water plug in bone color and brown color, as well as the root beer colored paddle tails. Find them online and give them a try! Have fun fishing and enjoy the bay. Respect all boaters and fishermen around you!
