Estero Bay Report

Capt. Jon Fetter
August 11, 2016
Estero Bay - Saltwater Fishing Report

The fishing in and around Estero Bay is getting really interesting with plenty of options for anglers. Bait is everywhere on the beaches and on the grass flats and the fish are very happy. There are juvenile tarpon all over the shallows and free lining live bait on 3/0 circle hooks under floats works best. It is a good time for anglers to throw top water plugs if artificial's is what you like. Snook are feeding great around the floating docks and mangrove islands near the passes. Free-lining baits seems to work best. Anglers might want to beef up their tackle, there have been some big girls mixed in pushing 40 inches. Snapper have also been tacking the live bait and some are around 12 inches, great for table fare.
