Estero Bay Report

Capt. Jon Fetter
April 1, 2019
Estero Bay - Saltwater Fishing Report

The fishing continues to be really good provideng anglers with plenty of options. The backbay bite has been good for ladyfish, jacks, and sheepshead. Shrimp under popping corks will work best for the ladies and jacks while shrimp tipped jigheads thrown around structure will produce the sheepies. The passes are teaming with pompano, ladyfish, spanish mackerel, and small sharks. Bottom bouncing shrimp tipped jigheads will work for all. The nearshore reefs are full of cruising spanish mackerel and ladyfish. They are feeding on acres of glass minnows and will take silver spoons or jigheads with shrimp. Locate the birds and cast away. There are also plenty of sharks out there willing to take cut bait. Anchor up get some chum out and get ready because there are some big hammers out there right now.
