Estero Bay Update: Post Hurricane Irma

Capt. Joe Angius
September 23, 2017
Estero Bay - Saltwater Fishing Report

Fishing in Estero Bay has been fantastic after hurricane Irma passed through. A ton of snook are in the backwaters along with juvenile tarpon. The water quality in the backwaters is not the best, but the fish are still feeding. Though beachgoers are concerned with swimming in the water, I will say that the incoming tide brought in great clean water from the Gulf. This pushed most of the freshwater back up the rivers and creeks.

Don't be discouraged from fishing and please contact me for the best times and tides to fish. If there is anything that will compromise my clients safety, comfort, and overall experience I will not take them fishing. As of now, everything is clear and safe to enjoy our local fisheries. I hope to see you soon!
