Flamingo - Saltwater Fishing Report
Fall is here and so is the great fishing that comes with it. North Biscayne Bay has had plenty of baitfish schools attracting lots of attention from snook, tarpon, large jack crevalles, ladyfish, sea trout, snappers, barracudas and the first Spanish mackerel and bluefish of the year. At times large fish can be seen crashing baits from hundreds of yards away. Most of the action has been from large and small jack crevalles but at times its snook and tarpon eating finger mullet. Early mornings into the afternoons has been the best time to fish North Biscayne Bay or fishing from 3 in the afternoon to dark. Best snook and tarpon action has taken place early or late in the day.
Offshore kingfishing has been very good with some mackerel joining in along with mutton snappers on the bottom. Dolphins are available but they have been hit or miss. A few sailfish are starting to show up but it's the kingfish action that has been the best.
Flamingo has offered some very good fishing as is expected this time of the year with redfish, snook, sea trout, tarpon, jacks, ladyfish and snappers giving us the most action. We have been having good success with the Rapala Twichin Raps, X Raps and the Skitter Walks along with the 1/4 ounce Hook Up lure tipped with a Gulp shrimp, Pogy or jerk bait.
