Flamingo - Saltwater Fishing Report

What a great week of fishing it has been. May and June has always been my favorite months fishing out of Flamingo. There are so many different options to choose from when spending a day in the park. The best part about fishing Flamingo is that redfish, snook, and tarpon are all available on the same flats. I don't think there are many places in the world like that and that's what makes Everglades National Park so special.
The tarpon have been very active in the morning and we have put a lot of fish in the air this week. Local angler, Dr. Gelber joined me one morning and landed this nice 50lb tarpon and added 6 redfish to the day, all on fly.

The redfishing out front of Flamingo has been as good as I have ever seen. We have encountered on many different occasions this week, redfish tailing as far as you can see. Dennis Wilson got in on the action and sightfished 15 solid redfish. Great angling for sure!

The snook have also been on the same redfish flats sitting in the potholes busting mullet as the tide pushes them up and off the flats. The topwater plugs have definitely been tied on!

Give me a call to setup a trip!
