Flamingo - Saltwater Fishing Report

The spring time fishing has been outstanding over the past few weeks, despite the late season front that came through late last week. That front slowed the tarpon fishing down a bit in the Everglades, but the snook fishing has been as good as it gets. Once we get a couple of days of east wind and get back to the normal pattern, the tarpon fishing will take off again. We spent most of the time last week hiding from the wind and hammering shorelines for snook. I love tarpon fishing, but snook fishing is a close second. The big fish are moving out and getting ready to spawn in early June. This is a great time for big snook on flies and topwater plugs.

The flats have been very productive as well. The redfishing has been getting better and will continue to get better when the wind dies down a little. This spring season, I have seen more big snook on the flats than I can remember. That is a great sign for the next several months.

I have some openings at the end of May and plenty of open dates in June. Give me a call to get out on the water.
