Flamingo - Saltwater Fishing Report

This past week everyday I have had a chance to get out it has been fairly windy. We fished from flamingo to biscayne bay. We managed to find some spanish mackeral, bluefish, jacks, and some trout while on the hunt for some tarpon on the gulf side. We found a few fish rolling around but most had lock jaw. I did get one poon to eat only to loose him as soon as he nailed the fly.
The only day we had a break from the wind was when I was out with my buddy Capt. Joe Costadura from www.fishbrokenbones.com in Biscayne Bay. We dropped the Dolphin Renegade in the drink and as we ran out to our destination there was a trickle of wind out of the SSE. Conditions were not bad at all and we had fish moving around and it was looking good. Soon we came across a massive school of bones that were pushing a serious wake. Joe made a perfect cast and had the bonefish fighting for his fly, one finally crushed it and the fly line was rooster tailing through the water while Joe cleared line like a mad man. The fish took us to the backing and after a nice fight the fish took off behind the boat only to spit the fly right back at us a foot behind the boat. I could have sworn I saw that bonefish laughing at me as it swam away. We had a shot at a nice permit that was sitting off a ray but just refused the fly. We also had another shot at a single bonefish but the fish seemed to be stubborn and did not want to cooperate. By mid day the wind starting howling out of the south making for some nasty condition's. We called it a day and finished our day having some BBQ and thinking back how we got robbed by that bonefish. I need to get back on the water and get some revenge on some fish. The temp's are rising and the fishing is getting HOT! Lets get out there and put a hurting on them.
