Flamingo - Saltwater Fishing Report

122714

I am fishing with the Buckley Brown and his family today down at Flamingo, he was with wife Kelley and kids Jordan, Dalton and Jarred. We fished the Whitewater Bay side because it was a Holiday weekend and loads of traffic. We caught plenty of fish and when you consider it was 5 people fishing it adds up. The Trout bite was good along with Jacks, Ladyfish and Snappers, we also trolled for Groupers in the river's. We only fished half a day and tried to get in as much as possible, they were from Kentucky and had to get to a T.V. to was their basketball team.

I got a couple phone calls this morning and let me know the fishing was pretty good, one for there were some Tarpon around. I waited for my son James and his friend Johnny and headed out to Haulover Marine center. We launched and went looking for the diving birds which were on Bait, Mackerels, and Bluefish. We made our way to the Tarpon but it was kind of windy and we never saw one, so we Trout fished. I started it off with a 3 lb. Trout, we got into an area that was loaded with12-14 inch Trout wore them out. We bounced around and caught some other species but they were hungry and it was time to go.

I would of liked to get out on the beach's for some of the bigger Tarpon but the conditions weren't great for it. The positive is side is the Tarpon are here and they are eating Shrimp, the afternoon bite has been decent from what I'm hearing. Flamingo has been good as well we are out of the super cold days and back to some warmer conditions which let the fish get back on a regular eating schedule.

If interested give me a call at 305 333 8149, I cater to small groups and families, teaching kids proper fishing techniques.
