Happy New Year!

Flamingo - Saltwater Fishing Report

2010 review

The last fishing day of the year for me and I'm glad! This year has been been very destructive in the Gulf of Mexico and Flamingo from the economy, to the big freeze and the oil spill. While we will recover from all it takes time and luck. There has been a couple small things this week that makes me think we are in recovery. The water temps are in the upper 50's and guys are catching Snook, I had my first back country Goliath Grouper in over a year.

Miami Beach and Biscayne Bay have been very good all year for Tarpon, we are starting a new Shrimp season. The Tarpon pack into the inlets and wait for them to run! The Tarpon bite has been good since September off of South Beach and we will be in them solid until July. Last years Grouper bite was awesome during the closed season and it closes as of January 1st, let's hope for the same.

I am with Mayer, Liza and their kids Jeff and Victor at Flamingo. It is cold with low hazy clouds so we started out close in Snake Bight channel, after a dozen Trout we made a move out west to Lake Ingrahham. I moved around to a handful of spots and put we put about 50 Redfish in the boat. It was one of those days where if you found them there was more than one. Liza had about 15 in a row at one point and Mayer made a come from behind to catch up. Jeff and Victor caught their share as well. I talked to a few guys at the ramp to here of a good Snook bite, that's awesome.

My discounted 1/2 day trips for Biscayne Bay are available until 011111, if interested give me a call at 305 333 8149.

Thanks and have a Happy New Year!
