Happy New Year!

Capt. Jim Hobales
January 6, 2014
Flamingo - Saltwater Fishing Report

Happy New Year!

It is January 2014 which means its cold everywhere but here! The cold is only a day a way but when it clears the fish will be feeding, we have had some cooler days but not enough to get the fish in their normal winter pattern. As I am writing this 1-6-14 everyone above Florida is freezing with some crazy snow storms burying some cities. This cold blast we are getting this week will trigger several things which in turn will make for some good fishing. The cold will pack the Tarpon into Government Cut, along with Groupers Snappers and just no telling what else. The cold along with some strong winds will get the Shrimp moving thru the bays, bridges and Government Cut which will be good areas to target Tarpon, Snook, Groupers, Snappers and big Trout.

I'm with Bill, Jim and Karl down at Flamingo, this past week was warm and windy but we fished hard and caught slams of Redfish Trout and Snook. We had winds in the 25 mph range which made for tough fishing but they got it done.

Things will change this week so if your planning a trip fishing might really get interesting, if I can help give me a call at 305 3338149.

Thanks,

Capt Jimbo
