Capt. Jim Hale

Flamingo - Saltwater Fishing Report

Redfish on fly at Flamingo Everglades National Park.
Yesterday I fished with good fly fisherman friend and client Mr. James Curtis out front, We had a good tide with a super moon going on ..... We found large muds on the flats, within the muds there were over 500 black drum feeding most were around 7 pounds. also were some large reds. we ended up with 7 reds on fly and 4 black drum on fly as well. the reds were eating very small chartreuse minnows and the drum were eating a tiny kwan shrimp and new penny gulp on spin. we also found plenty of large snook and lost one I would say that was 12 to 14 pounds next to the boat when the tipit broke.

Flamingo Fishing Forecast:

Snook are making a strong comeback and the fishing should be great

Target Species:

Reds and snook
