Flamingo - Saltwater Fishing Report

Fishing down in Flamingo is about as good as it's been in a very long time. Redfish have been tailing and cruising all over the place. We're getting a ton of shots a day with the fly rod. If you're new to fly fishing this is a great opportunity to cast to ALOT of fish.
Snook have been blowing up on mullet in certain potholes upon the flats. It's exciting to watch a BIG snook blow you top water plug out of the water.
Tarpon have been rolling early in the morning and are very willing to eat a fly or plug. Late summer is one of my favorite times to be on the water because you get to experience the best of what the glades has to offer whether it's saltwater or freshwater.
Here's Bill with a Snook and Redfish that he caught fishing a couple days this past week. It was a great 2 days of fishing!!

We didn't really have the great bite in the main areas of the Freshwater Everglades like we usually do this time of year due to the water levels. So I've been recently fishing certain areas in the everglades for Bass and Peacock Bass. Some of these areas you can only access by canoe, kayak, or walking the shoreline. We've been throwing top water flies at these fish and I can tell you it has been epic. I've done a few trips with the canoe and it is a lot of fun. If your interested in this type of fishing, give me a call and we'll set something up.
