Flamingo - Everglades National Park

Flamingo - Saltwater Fishing Report

Back in the Saddle aboard a Hell’s Bay

Fishing remains excellent in the Flamingo area for various species during the most recent days. I did forget to mention last time that Rick H. landed two reds, a 22” and a 24” on light tackle. Strong fronts with high winds made fishing tough for most but the catch rate is up again. To be successful you’ll have to play the winds and tides accordingly.

I am proud to announce that I am fishing a new Hell’s Bay 18’ skiff that is truly awesome. With a full fishing agenda up ahead I’ll be sure to keep you informed on the bite and the state-of-the-art fishing boat. More on the boat later.

Others like cobia and mackerel are just starting to swing in but be sure to watch the forecast and, more importantly, be a good observer on the water. The only way to know what’s biting is to go fishing.
