Flamingo - Everglades National Park

Flamingo - Saltwater Fishing Report

Super Snook Fishing

Flamingo fishing remains strong and steady with action. We have been catching snook every trip out from the flats, to the coastline, and even in Whitewater Bay. One trip produced 14 insiders on artificials up to 5 pounds in the deep backcountry. Fish early mornings for best results and work the outgoing for snook with whatever bait you please and watch out for the sharks!

Capt. Mike Hutchisson and I did a tandem trip with a family that produced multiple species and a great time was had. I also donated a half-day trip the disabled veterans first fish-off held in Bayfront park. Other great outings include Robert Jr. from “Robert’s Fruit Stand” in Homestead and Brandon’s Flamingo slam, Sam Engle’s Slam for his 70th birthday, Joe Digraziano’s “5 had’em’s,” seven redfish, snook, and 6 goliath. Joe describes as the best fishing trip he’s had -referring to how much fun he had losing fish. He was awestruck when a giant managed to turn around and beat him on 20# braid- I am almost poritive it was a 50# goliath grouper because it cam from the same area another was caught on a gold glitter DOA shrimp.

On the freshie side the peacock have slowed a bit. Dr. Mickael Fleming and partner Walter caught five.

One last HOT tip is consider night fishing. I will be doing a lot more of this during the coming months especially because I am now using a HYDROGLOW!!!!!!!!!

Please don’t forget to look at my new website www.captainariel.com as I have added a gallery, testimonial, sponsors page, and more.

Plus all full day trips with me offer a No-fish No-pay!!!! You can’t go wrong!!!!!
