Everglades National Park - Flamingo

Flamingo - Saltwater Fishing Report

It's the tail end of the tarpon season along the west coast of the 'Glades but the fish are still biting. We're having to hunt for them but we've scored every day this past week with fish in river mouths and just inside the rivers. Along with tarpon from 70 to almost 100 lbs each day we've had bull sharks up to 11' and a variety of other species. A back-country grand slam is a real possibility every day now.

Until the recent heavy rains there weren't any mosquitoes to speak of at Flamingo. That will be changing now. We should have our first crop showing up in a few days. Some of the world's best fishing is very well protected during the rainy season....
