More snook then you can shake a stick at!

Flamingo - Saltwater Fishing Report

Pedro Sr., Pedro Jr. and Mike fished in Flamingo with me this past week with winds from the NE at 15 to 25. Using the shoreline for protection I was able to cast net close to 50 quality size pinfish in just 20 minutes. We worked our way up the coast and then found an area that looked promising. For the next five hours by using my Minn Kota Talon and my Minn Kota Ulterra trolling motor to slowly work the downed tree shorelines the guys were able to stay in the fish for the whole day. Over 40 snook in sizes from 24 to 31 inches came to boatside to be released. We also had a few jack crevalles, ladyfsih and quite a few big sharks that ate our baits. Using live pinfish plus mullet that I caught with my 10 foot cast net and Hookup lures tipped with Gulp soft plastics the guys had many double header snook catches. We fished these baits with Hookup lures and with Mustad Ultra Point Big Gun hooks. What a great day.

Flamingo Fishing Forecast:

Miami Fishing Forecast:

Summer is here and the fishing in South Florida is about to explode. With water temperatures rising sea trout and snook will start their spawning seasons. Bigger fish and bigger numbers of fish! Spanish mackerel, bluefish and kingfish are heading north for the summer. As they pass the Miami area they always provide a months' worth of action. Big jack crevalles will be chasing baitfish schools in North Bay and big tarpon will be stealing baits intended for other fish. Offshore we will see kingfish and Spanish mackerel, bonitos, sailfish, dolphins and blackfin tuna feeding right alongside each other. In Flamingo in Everglades National Park the birds will be leaving but the scenery will always be there and there is always the unbelievable sunrise and sunset pictures. Fishing for snook, redfish, snapper, sea trout, tarpon, jacks ladyfish, sharks, tripletail, cobia and more will be as exciting light tackle fishing as one could wish for.

Target Species:

Snook, Tarpon, Redfish, Sea Trout, Dolphin, Sailfish, Cobia, Mackerel, Shark, Tripletail, Grouper, Snapper
