Flamingo - Saltwater Fishing Report
Greetings Cyber Angler community, today I had the pleasure of fishing with Don and Brett from South Carolina- and it sure turned into an epic day! We began the day in the back country with back to back juvenile Snook and Speckled Trout all caught on artificial baits (an IRT 300 reel combo, 20 lb POWER PRO braid, 20- lb fluorocarbon leader and Gulp baits). Once the standard summer storms cleared up front I picked up my Dolphin super skiff and switched to the front, we went for Speckled Trout on the flats, and although it took a while, we found quite a few. We had four opportunities at Specks in the 20in. class and brought back one + four more in the slot. After slamming the Trout, Brett wanted Tarpon and we sought some out. We came across some "rollers" one of which was in 50lb. class but for the second week in a row, they just would NOT hit our miroDine plugs... We headed back to the mangrove shorelines up front of Flamingo and closed the charter seeking mangrove Snapper, it wasn't long before we had 5 slot Snapper on board- Don and Brett had a ball! In deed an epic father and son trip!
