Swamp Guides Ball

Capt. Armando Alejo
February 3, 2019
Flamingo - Saltwater Fishing Report

Greetings friends of A2 Charters.

This week we had the pleasure of doing some tournament fishing at the annual "swamp guides ball 2019". For this tourney we ran out of the excellent Lorelei restaurant of Islamorada- indeed an excellent establishment!

Following a wonderful weather pattern, myself and 47 other boats ran for our desired destinations, we did so at precisely 7 AM and what a tournament it was! Upon arriving at our first spot and EVERY other subsequent spot, we found the right species (Redfish and Snook) and brought them over the gunnel. My two anglers had zero, to no downtime, we brought and overwhelming 60+ fish to the boat many of which made the 20in. cut. We threw Rapala jerk baits, Gulp shrimp and in some instances live shrimp. All 10 rigs on board were tied with 40 lb floru, 1/4 jigs and 20-30 lb PowerPro braid.

Our hard work was rewarded when they honored me with the "Top Guide Award", a humbling recognition! I'm thankful to my clients for choosing me to guide them through the Islamorada waterways!
