Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

The fishing is starting to heat up this month as we approach the official Spring Fishing Season. Every March, the mahi-mahi make a daring run down the Ft Lauderdale coast, spawning and eating everything they come across. The initial signs that the dolphin run is about to beginning are here. We're catching the first few dolphin out there that we have seen in months, and they are nice size ones. When the wind blows out of the east for a couple days straight, you will see some off-the-scale dolphin fishing in Fort Lauderdale. Get ready!

Amberjacks are also biting out there on all the shipwrecks. I love shipwreck fishing this time of year because the amberjacks stack up on the 200-400ft shipwrecks and bite really good on live baits. The amberjack season begins in March and lasts all the way through June, here in Ft Lauderdale. These amberjacks are 40-50 pounds and are one of the strongest fighting fish in the ocean. They are great fun to catch. Get out fishing for some of the best upcoming fishing Ft Lauderdale will have all year.
