Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

On Saturday morning the seas were as calm as can be. A little trickle of current to the north. We had a nice couple from Ohio charter the Reel Appeal. Captain Kunta was searching hard for some Kingfish and tunas on the troll and after quite some time finally crossed paths with a 20 pound kingfish! The full moon causes the eating patterns of the fish to be flipped up side down and alot of the fish feed at night if capable to do so. So, Danimal(Reel Appeal's Mate), suggested to Captain Kunta that we should give the nice couple from Ohio a turn at bottom dropping a wreck. Captain Kunta agreed and headed to the Boyd's. It took about 15 minutes and it was fish on! When the line finally came up to our pleasent surprise it was a nice 12 pound black grouper to end the trip and head back in.

The couple understood about the full moon's fishing woohs and was very happy with their kingfish and black grouper!
That same afternoon still having to deal with the full moon woohs we had two couples all friends for more than half thier lives charter the Reel Appeal. We set out trolling with pretty much the same weather and water conditions as in the morning. We caught an 8 pound king right away and left us waiting and waiting and waiting quite some time before Captain Kunta blew the wistle on the much desired trolling of which the couples wanted to work. Captain Kunta and the Danimal suggested hitting the Boyd's wreck again and the couples agreed to the game plan. This time it was bait hit bottom and fish on! Our female angler did a great job listening to Danimal's instructions while she did everything hands on. She fought the fish for a good 30 minutes and landed a beauty of a Jack!

Her husband was very proud of her for reeling in that jack from start to finish! Very impressive! For fishing information or tips for when your going out there call 954-638-6353! Reel Appeal!
