Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

Had some Great customers today from the Michigan area that chartered the Y B Normal this morning. There has been heavy northern currents at around 2.5 to 3 knots, this is great for fast moving fish like tuna, wahoo, sailfish. Lots of blue water today and scattered seaweed around. The blackfin tuna bite has been very good early in the morning and late in the evening between 200-400 feet of water trolling small feathers, and naked squid skirts. At certain times hooking up to 3 fish at once is not uncommon, the fish are averaging from 2-5lbs with some fish up to 10 and 20lbs not uncommon. This morning we ended up taking home 15 blackfin tuna and 1 very large rainbow runner, which is similar to the California yellowtail, plenty of action for small kids, smooth seas for the next few days and great weather ahead!
