Big Bull Dolphin Biting 1 Mile Off The Beach

Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

March is here and that means the big bull dolphin are around. This afternoon, we went out and headed offshore for some dolphin trolling. We hooked into some big bulls about 600ft of water, just 2 and a half miles off the coast. This is the first good run of dolphin we have had in 2019. They always come through in late March through April and sometimes into May. The dolphin showing up early is a good sign that the dolphin bite will be good this year. If they're biting this good in early March, when the strong East winds of late March and April come around, the dolphin fishing is going to be EPIC. I look forward to the fishing 3 weeks from now. There are going to be dolphin, tuna, sailfish, wahoo, kingfish and more biting. The thing is, it all happens on the roughest days of the year. It happens when there is a strong East wind and the seas are big. If you are willing to brave the seas, when the seas get big and wind is strong, you will be rewarded with some of the most awesome mahi mahi dolphin fishing you can experience anywhere in the world. So get ready, watch the weather and know... when the weather gets really bad and NOBODY wants to go fishing, those are the most awesome days to go fishing!

Sea you on the water,

Capt. Andy Roydhouse
