We started the morning trolling at the sea buoy in Fort Lauderdale in 120 ft. of water, 1.8 miles from shore. We put out two deep lines with Bonito strips and three surface lines with Ballyhoo. We trolled from 100 feet of water out to 300 feet of water over wrecks and rock piles along the reef line heading to the south of Fort Lauderdale. Our first fish, a 10 lb. Kingfish, was caught in 130 ft. of water. We kept on trolling and caught another 10 lb Kingfish plus two Bonitos.

Next, we tried going for a shark. We put out three baits, one on the surface, one midrange and one on the bottom. It did not take long before we got a shark bite. A 7 ft. Dusky shark ate the surface bait – Fish on. The Shark ripped out 30 yards of drag and sounded - both Chris and Charlie were angling and both guys did a great job. Each run was less but still the Shark put on a show. After 40 minutes of fighting the Shark, we got it along side the boat for picture taking and release. We put our trolling gear back in the water and all of a sudden, we got a real nice bite, which turned out to be a 20 lb. Black Fin Tuna.

It was now time to head back to the dock. The anglers retired into the a/c salon and enjoyed the relaxing trip back to the dock at Bahia Bar Yachting Center, 801 Seabreeze Blvd. Fort Lauderdale 33316. Matt, our mate, filet out the Kingfish for the Fabro's to take home and enjoy.
